It is a precious pagoda built in Baekje Era along with Mireuksaji Stone Pagoda in Iksan-si City (Treasure No. 11).
It looks elegant due to its refined formative beauty.

Tang Dynasty's General Sojeongbang destroyed Baekje in alliance with Silla Dynasty.

Since he left the writing “Celebration Tower on Destroying Baekje” on the stone pagoda, the pagoda was humiliated by being falsely called for some time as “Pyeongjetap” meaning celebrating tower on destroying Baekje.

The pagoda has the figure in which five-story pagoda body stands in a single narrow and low pedestal.

Pillar stones are fixed into the middle and corners of each side of the pedestal.

Pillars in 'Beheullim Technique' (narrow at the upper and lower part and convex at the middle in a pillar) stand at each corner of the pagoda body in each story.

Roof stones are thin and wide, and raised at the end of the eaves to look nimble.

From all this, we can guess the pagoda has a similar structure to a wooden building.

It is the characteristic of this pagoda.

Though the pagoda faithfully follows the formation of wooden buildings, but it is not just an imitation, rather it is a refined and creative work.

The figure in general is very majestic and beautiful.

The pagoda is highly valued as a very precious material, also in that it is one of the two remaining stone pagodas from Baekje Era.
