On the 10th, Chungnam Province held the "Chungnam-Chungbuk Tourism Transport Loop (C-Tour Bus) Opening Ceremony" at Cheongju International Airport to attract foreign tourists.

Hosted by Chungnam and Chungbuk provinces and organized by the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation and the Chungbuk Cultural Foundation, the event celebrated the official launch of the C-Tour Bus service.

The ceremony was attended by approximately 50 officials, including Cho Il-gyo, Director of the Chungnam Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, and Lee Dong-ok, Administrative Vice Governor of Chungbuk Province, and featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a trial ride.

The newly opened bus route is part of the "Mega-Regional Tourism Transport Innovation Pilot District Project," designed to provide tourists with a convenient and efficient means of transportation.

The C-Tour Bus is a specialized tourism loop connecting major transportation hubs in both provinces: Cheongju International Airport, Osong KTX Station, Gongju General Terminal, and Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal. It has been in pilot operation since October.

With the official launch, the province expects to break down boundaries between the two regions and vitalize mega-regional tourism.

The opening of this route has drastically reduced travel time from Cheongju International Airport to Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal from 4 hours (averaging three transfers) to under 2 hours with no transfers.

This improvement is expected to grant tourists easy access to major attractions in Gongju and Buyeo, which were previously difficult to reach via public transport.

The C-Tour Bus operates 8 times a day. Fares follow the existing intercity bus pricing system (e.g., 17,800 KRW for an adult from Cheongju International Airport to Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal).

Tickets can be reserved at ticket offices and kiosks at the respective terminals or through smartphone apps such as T-money GO and Bustago.

In addition to the loop service, the province plans to implement multilingual systems for foreign tourists arriving via Cheongju International Airport. Targeted programs will also be launched, including business briefings for overseas travel agencies and various tourism discount promotions in collaboration with Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).

Furthermore, from the 17th to January 31st of next year, a free pilot operation of Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) will be available for tourists in Buyeo.

The Tourism DRT is a convenient transport service where tourists use a dedicated app to specify their destination and request a vehicle. A nearby vehicle then arrives to pick them up, providing personalized mobility to tourist spots that are otherwise difficult to reach by regular public transport.

The Buyeo Tourism DRT primarily operates between Baekje historic and cultural sites. Designated stops include Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal, Gungnamji Pond, Buyeo National Museum, Jeongnimsa Temple Site, Busosanseong Fortress, Baekje Cultural Land, and Gongju KTX Station.

Users can simply download the "Shucle" app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. For elderly passengers who may find apps difficult to use, a call center (1533-0777) is available for dispatch services.

Domestic and international tourists arriving through Cheongju International Airport can now travel easily and comfortably to the attractive tourist destinations of Chungnam and Chungbuk via the C-Tour Bus, said Director Cho. "We hope more tourists will create wonderful memories while traveling through our provinces on this loop route."
