The sights and attractions at Yedangho Lake, a representative tourist destination in Chungcheongnam-do Province, have been significantly enhanced.
The Province announced that the ‘Yedangho Good Farm Experience World Creation Project’ within the Yedangho Tourist Area has been completed and officially opened on the 1st.
The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 480 people, including Jo Il-gyo, the Province's Director-General of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, other provincial officials, the Yesan County Mayor and Council Chairman, provincial and county assembly members, National Assembly members, heads of related institutions and organizations, and local residents. The ceremony proceeded with a pre-show performance, a County Citizen's Award ceremony, a project progress report and video screening, congratulatory speeches, the proclamation ceremony for the ‘2025–2026 Chungnam and Yesan Visit Year,’ and facility tours.
The Yedangho Good Farm Experience World was developed with a total investment of 33.2 billion won (14.7 billion won from the national government and 18.5 billion won from the county) from 2017 to this year, and has now officially opened following its completion in May.
The core facilities include the 70-meter-high Yedangho Observatory, a food court, 10 accommodation units, the Ieum Lounge (equipped for work-vacation and information services), and a healing garden. These diverse spaces allow visitors to enjoy a panoramic view of Yedangho Lake at a glance.
Yedangho Lake is already an established national tourist hot spot with its suspension bridge, musical fountain, and children's adventure facility (Yedangho Adventure).
The opening of the Good Farm Experience World is expected to be a turning point for its development into a new stay-type tourist destination centered around the observatory.
In particular, with the ‘2025–2026 Chungnam and Yesan Visit Year,’ it is anticipated that more tourists will visit Yesan, leading to the vitalization of the local economy and strengthened tourism competitiveness.
In a congratulatory speech delivered on behalf of Governor Kim Tae-heum, Jo Il-gyo, the Province's Director-General of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said, “The various spaces created around the Yedangho Observatory, the core of the Good Farm Experience World opening today, will offer an unforgettable experience to both residents and visitors.” He added, “As more people are expected to visit Yesan during the 2025–2026 Yesan Visit Year, the Province will provide full support for the advancement of Yesan County.”
