On the 4th, Chungcheongnam-do Province participated in the '2025 Hong Kong Fresh Produce Expo (Asia Fruit Logistica)' held in Hong Kong, where it introduced new local varieties of strawberries and pears and conducted export consultations.

The Hong Kong Fresh Produce Expo, Asia's only trade show specializing in fresh produce, took place over three days from the 3rd to the 5th in Hong Kong, with buyers and producers participating from various countries including Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the United States.

At the expo, the Province was the only domestic participant to showcase summer strawberries grown in local smart farms, successfully catching the attention of overseas buyers.

In addition, the province promoted new local strawberry varieties, including Vitaberry, Pink Candy, and Goldberry, as well as new pear varieties like Shinhwa and Greensys. The province conducted relevant export consultations, establishing networks with international buyers.

During the expo, the Province also introduced Shine Muscat grapes, which are being cultivated primarily in the Seosan area to enhance the export competitiveness of local grape farms, and reached an agreement with overseas buyers from Vietnam and Thailand for imminent export.

Furthermore, the province achieved a wide range of positive results, including completing discussions with a US buyer regarding online mall entry and local promotional sales for pears, which are entering their full harvest season, aiming to expand pear exports.

The Province plans to continue actively exploring new export markets by participating in and hosting expos and export consultations, strengthening overseas marketing, and persistently developing and pursuing related policies to boost the income of local farms.

A provincial official stated, "This expo was an optimal opportunity to showcase our excellent smart farm produce to the world," adding, "The Province will proactively respond to the expansion of smart farms by developing and nurturing export-specialized varieties and establishing a low-temperature distribution system to ensure our local fresh produce remains competitive overseas."
