With just 300 days remaining until its grand opening, the 2026 Taean International Horticulture Healing Expo is gaining momentum as Chungcheongnam-do Province and Taean County commit to its successful execution.
The Organizing Committee for the 2026 Taean International Horticulture Healing Expo held a "D-300 Success Celebration Event" on June 17 at Anmyeondo Island Resom in Taean.
This event was organized to boost national interest, set the expo atmosphere, and solidify the commitment to a successful opening, exactly 300 days before the grand event.
The gathering saw over 400 attendees express their dedication, including Governor Kim Tae-heum, Taean County Mayor Ga Se-ro, HOBAN Group Chairman Kim Seon-gyu, provincial and county council members, and representatives from the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), the Rural Development Administration, and the Korea Horticultural Association.
The event proceeded in the following order: △Theme performance △Appointment of private sector committee chairman and honorary ambassadors △Presentation of sponsorship funds from NH Nonghyup Bank △Screening of a relay video wishing for the expo's success △Opening ceremony for expo tickets △Success celebration ceremony and congratulatory performances.
Chairman Kim Seon-gyu was appointed as the private sector organizing committee chairman.
To spearhead the expo's promotion both domestically and internationally, a group of prominent figures were appointed as honorary ambassadors: broadcaster Nam Hee-seok, singer Shin Sung, celebrity chef Oh Se-deuk, culinary researcher Lim Hee-won, and YouTubers Matsuda and Lirang.
Governor Kim stated, "Paris, France, with its iconic Eiffel Tower, rose as a center of tourism, art, and culture by successfully hosting five World Expos in the 19th century. This expo will also serve as a crucial opportunity to firmly establish Taean on the world stage as a complex tourism city combining recreation and healing."
Taean County Mayor Ga Se-ro commented, "This is an opportunity for Taean's nature and gardens to be introduced on the world stage, and a chance for the local economy and culture to grow together. We will actively participate in the expo preparations alongside our county residents."
Kim Seon-gyu, the private sector organizing committee chairman, shared his commitment and expectations for the expo, saying, "As an official sponsor of this expo, HOBAN Group will fulfill its corporate social responsibility and contribute to making this a meaningful event that engages the public."
The 2026 Taean International Horticulture Healing Expo is being pursued as a flagship project of the 8th popularly elected administration. It aims to present the future vision of the horticulture and healing industries and create sustainable growth engines through tourism and healing resource development.
Under the theme "Healthy Future Found in Nature: Horticulture & Healing," the expo will run from April 25 to May 24, 2026, across the Anmyeondo Island area.
The province anticipates 1.82 million visitors from 40 countries for this expo.
