▲ 2025 Chungnam Alcoholic Beverages Top 10 Selection

Chungnam Province has finalized the selection of the top 10 traditional alcoholic beverages produced by local breweries that best embody the taste and charm of Chungnam.

The province and the Chungnam Institute for Economic Promotion announced on the 20th that they have selected one makgeolli (rice wine), four yakju/cheongju (clear rice wine), one fruit wine, three distilled spirits, and one other liquor as the '2025 Chungnam Alcoholic Beverages TOP10.'

The Chungnam Alcoholic Beverages TOP10 are selected annually through evaluation to discover excellent traditional liquors within the province and strengthen the competitiveness of the local traditional liquor industry.

The tasting evaluation for selection was held over two days, from the 10th to the 11th, and fairly judged 52 products submitted by 36 breweries, based on evaluations from both experts and a public judging panel.

As a result, a total of 10 products were recognized for their outstanding quality and originality: △Makgeolli: 'Ganwoldo Dalbit Tara' (Keunmaul) △Yakju/Cheongju: 'Hansan Sogokju' (Soonja Halmeoni Sogokju), 'Nokcheon Hansan Sogokju' (Nokcheon Brewery), 'Hansan Myeongpum Sogokju' (Myeongpum Sogokju), 'Daecheon Bada Geumbit' (Myeongjudoga) △Fruit Wine: 'Chusa Apple Wine' (Yesan Apple Wine) △Distilled Spirits: 'Dureyang Moktong Sukseongju' (Dureyang Brewery), 'Cheonnyeonjigi Hansan Sogok Hwaju' (Jihyang Sogokju), 'Taean Beolju 40' (Taean Balhyo) △Other Liquors: 'Gamtanjju' (Gaekje).

Additionally, Yangchon Brewery's 'Yeoyu 25,' which received the highest score on-site, was selected for this year's Design Award.

The province plans to exhibit the selected Chungnam Alcoholic Beverages TOP10 products at the provincial government's public relations hall and support exhibitions and promotional events at traditional liquor galleries. It will also provide diverse support in distribution and marketing, including participation in domestic and international expos and online promotional events, to actively back their entry into national and overseas markets.

Lee Hyeok-se, head of the province's Rural Restructuring Division, stated, "This year's Chungnam Alcoholic Beverages TOP10 are products that represent the excellence of Chungnam's traditional liquors, possessing outstanding quality and stories based on local agricultural products." He added, "We will continue various support and promotional activities for the sustainable growth of the traditional liquor industry."
