Located in an enterprise city embracing the beautiful Yellow Sea and Bunamho Lake, Chungnam Artist Residency offers nature-friendly creative environment for artists and supports them by organizing professional programs. Chungnam Artist Residency is committed to playing a role in deeper and broader expansion of the creative activities of the artists-in-residence through exchanges with prestigious art institutions worldwide and various experts.
Chungnam Artist Residency, located in the Taean Enterprise City (LaTierra), was built by Hyundai City Corporation Co., Ltd. and ESOU Architects. The architecture is designed as a workspace for visual artists on the basis of a simple aesthetic that does not contradict the surrounding natural environment. The neutral space of concrete that envelops the exterior and interior is harmonized with light to add depth to the space. Although individual workspaces are separated, they are organically connected to other spaces, forming a whole to resonate with neighboring artists. Its sculpture-like architecture, which seems to be naturally built up with water, wind, and earth, will stir up a variety of artistic inspirations for the artists-in-residence and will also be reborn as a space that creates a natural artistic resonance with local residents.
