▲ Glluga receives a special prize at the International Exhibition of Inventions
Glluga (CEO: Yu Gi-hyun ) won the Gold Prize and the Special Prize of the Jury for its semi-hardening technology-based sticker-type, attachable gel nail art invention.
The Chungnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (CCEI; Chief: Yi Byeong-u ) reported that said feat was accomplished at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2016, said to be one of the world’s top three invention exhibitions along with those held in Pittsburgh, US and Nuremberg, Germany.
As a leading promising business run by young people, Glluga was selected in 2015 by Chungnam CCEI for a 6-month challenge platform to receive intensive support.
Attachable gel nail art is a method of attaching semi-solid nail. It makes up for the shortcomings of the existing nail polish (manicure), helping women trim their nails more conveniently and more economically. Gel can be removed with ordinary acetone, thereby minimizing damage to the nails. Thus, it can be said to be an innovative item.
Following Glluga’s receipt of the prize at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, many buyers all over the world are contacting the firm for business negotiations. Some of them are said to have even asked for exclusive sales rights.
Chungnam CCEI runs a collaborative network with 160-plus trading businesses, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and Korea International Trade Association (KITA) to help startups including Glluga make forays into markets worldwide.
