South Chungcheong Province announced on the 19th that starting from next month, December 1st, there will be some revisions to the routes and timings of the Naepo New City circular bus services.
 
The circular buses, introduced in February of this year to improve the living conditions of residents in Naepo New City and to encourage the use of public transport, are currently operated by Hongju Passenger and Yesan Transportation, each running 11 times a day.
 
In response to feedback about low passenger usage, the province has developed this revision plan after a comprehensive review of the current usage statistics, survey results, and analysis of passenger flow.
 
The routes have been modified based on survey results and bus stop usage data, with minimal changes to avoid confusion among users. Instead of the existing Daehaksamgeori bus stop, the buses will now pass through Gyeongnam Apartment near the terminal.
 
The schedule has been adjusted to align with school timings, considering that middle and high school students account for 54.6% of the users.
 
Instead of the less popular 7 AM service, the last bus timing has been extended to 8:30 PM. Additionally, the number of trips passing through Sapgyo Hanaro Mart has been increased.
The province is also undertaking promotional activities online and offline, including distributing promotional materials and updating bus stop postings, to facilitate convenient use of the Naepo circular bus by residents.
 
Furthermore, to enhance the convenience of bus usage for residents, the province plans to establish a bus operation information system and bus stop information displays next year.
 
Kang Cheol-gu, the Director of the Transportation Policy Division of the province, stated, "We have prepared this revision plan after analyzing various aspects to increase the number of users, and we ask for the residents' active use. We will continue to improve the public transportation environment in the Naepo area and enhance the convenience of transportation for residents by increasing the connection with the Hongseong and Yesan bus routes."
